    Supply Technician (Inventory Management)

    Hauptaufgaben

    Serves as Supply Technician, responsible for inventory management that requires frequent technical intervention to assure effective supply support and economy.

    The work includes materiel requirements, estimates for budget, procurement, disposal, provisioning, or other special programs.

    Controls funds into materiel so that the proper kind, quality and quantity are available at the correct time and place.

    Coordinates materiel actions to assure properly phased support to specific projects or program, or operations. Controls stock in, due in or planned for the distribution system on a quantitative and monetary basis. Controls the distribution or redistribution of stock within the supply systems. Initiates actions leading to cataloging identification, procurement, maintenance, or disposal of items of materiel.

    Reviews requisitions, supporting documents, and reference material to determine supply action required, the status action, changes in requirements and unexpected requirements, and to expedite delivery of urgently required through correspondence and telephone calls to inventory control points or other organizations.

    Performs materiel coordination duties on an individual task or problem basis, such as expediting material requirements for special programs and maintenance and repairs shops.

    Reviews the supply determinations and decision resulting from the regular flow of data into the supply system and the subsequent output.

    Participates in the development of plans that identify actions and schedules that must be met to ensure that proper and timely support is provided.

    Monitors status and effectiveness of material support and follows up with responsible parties to assure that necessary actions are taken.

    Assists in providing Theater Enterprise-Wide Logistics System (TEWLS) for supply operations relating to unusually difficult documentary control, financial property accounting, or transaction analysis assignments.

    Work involves unusual situations because of the need to provide quality service to customers, the unusually high percentage of high-priority actions in times of emergencies, lack of established guidelines and necessity for assurance as to availability of funds and appropriate financial accounting for emergency actions.

    Reviews a variety of transactions which involve individual case problems or supply action requiring consideration of program requirements.

    Researches various records, references, listings, catalogs, etc., to verify accuracy information supplied and furnishes additional information required for re-entry into the routine.

    Utilizes a knowledge of items, their characteristics in making determinations. Coordinates with storage personnel regarding identification, and classification of items and maintenance personnel regarding fabrication and modification matters. Performs other duties as assigned.
