Job summary

Join Kohler Ventures as a Mechanical Engineer to work on innovative product development and design. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate concepts and solutions for product fit, form, and function.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the Head of Hardware, hardware engineering team, and product teams
• Iteratively explore concept ideas by visualization and physical interactions using sketching, digital illustration, 3D CAD and renderings, hand-built physical mock-ups, and 3D prints
• Refine concept designs into 3D parametric CAD, including the definition of part break-up with consideration for manufacturing and assembly
• Explore CMF (color, materials, and finishes) with samples and renderings to deliver a high-end and well-executed consumer product
• Lead new product development activities to generate innovative concepts and solutions for product fit, form, and function
• Develop approaches to concept development and execute design research, product concept drawings, physical modeling, and product presentations
• Communicate all mechanical specifications and maintain design integrity throughout the development process
• Develop cross-functional relationships across the organization to ensure product, strategy, and design requirements are understood throughout the product design process

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional mechanical development experience
• 5+ years of experience in digital health, wellness device design and development
• A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field from an accredited educational institution
• A strong understanding of fundamental mechanical and design principles
• Possesses a solid background in the design of mechanical components and systems using modern MCAD software such as Solidworks, including revision control
