Purpose:
General Legal: Provide general legal services to adidas Korea, LLC ("adidas Korea") including general legal advice and contract review, communication of legal updates, and training to client groups.
Personal Information Protection: Spot risks from various endeavors adidas Korea engages in and act as an internal Privacy Protection Manager; ensure compliance with rules and regulations, internal policy, and/or contracts in connection with personal information protection; protect personal information from leakage.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Value Added Partner

• Provide legal services for adidas Korea, including counselling, contract review, drafting and negotiation, structuring of transactions, legal risk assessment and dispute avoidance.

• Liaise closely with adidas Korea business functions ("Business Partners") to support them on legal matters (e.g., legal services including. counselling, contract review, drafting and negotiation, structuring of transactions)

• Provide legal advice in the early stages of Business Partners' strategy development and key decisions.

• Provide legal guidance in relation to business plans, and help to ensure proper implementation of those plans, consistent with legal and regulatory objectives.

• Frequent contact with Business Partners to identify and discuss business issues and needs and to provide consistent and time-sensitive legal advice.

• Support Senior Director, Legal & Compliance as needed.

2. Establishment of planning and legal strategies

• Devise legal strategies and solutions that safeguard against potential corporate liabilities in connection with legal disputes (e.g. litigations, meditations, administrative actions from government agencies).

• Work closely with Senior Director, Legal & Compliance to negotiate with counterparties and stakeholders in dealing with inducing withdrawal of cases, plea bargaining, leniency dispositions of government agencies, resolution of legal and business disputes.

• Work closely with Business Partners to summarize and communicate legal concepts clearly and effectively and help them synthesize legal frameworks in developing their business strategies.

3. Internal and External Business Development / Client Service

• Improve standard form agreements and legal processes that help to scale globally with a consistent but locally relevant approach.

• Provide legal guidance in relation to business plans, and help to ensure proper implementation of those plans, consistent with legal and regulatory objectives.

• Monitor legal and regulatory changes in the relevant jurisdictions to assess the impact on relevant lines of business, and identify new business opportunities and/or regulatory risks.

• Provide effective and appropriate supervision and management of delivery of legal services through outside counsel.

4. Risk Management

• Identify legal risks, and significant incidents of non-compliance, if any, and escalate these to Senior Director, Legal & Compliance

• Manage and provide appropriate legal guidelines in due course in the event of PR crisis to minimize negative impact on company.

5. Personal information protection

• Continuously update personal information protection ("PIP") policy, internal control plan and PIP guideline as needed.

• PIP training for all employees and for those who are legally required to be trained.

• Ensure (e.g., monitor, audit, report to Senior Director of Legal & Compliance) compliance with regulations and policies for personal information handlers including employees, store managers, business partners.

• Regular check up on compliance with CCTV guidelines in company-operated retail stores.

• Put up and update PIP-related signs in the office, stores and distribution center.

• Ensure PIP in all events sponsored by the company.

• Work with Senior Director of Legal & Compliance to manage PIP-related cases (e.g., litigations, mediations, administrative actions).

6. Corporate Legal

• Support corporate recordkeeping needs for adidas Korea and act in accordance with directions from adidas AG corporate legal team in connection with Meeting of Board of Business Executers and Ordinary General Meeting of Members.

• Support corporate transactions, including joint ventures, acquisitions and mergers.

Key Relationships:

• Reports to Senior Director, Legal & Compliance.

• Interacts internally with all levels of organization.

• Interacts and works with other adidas legal department members.

• Interacts externally with outside counsels and associations.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent client relations skills (including the ability to interact with clients at all levels from most senior to most junior).

• Business acumen and ability to make practical evaluations of risk essential.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

• Must be fluent in the country's local language and English.

• Strong background in contract law, e-Commerce law, Personal Information Protection Act, Network Act, competition law as well as laws and regulations that are typically relevant to consumer products industry, and drafting legal documents, and negotiation and business counselling skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage and prioritize a substantial and diverse workload.

• Strong team player with strong leadership skills

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

• Excellent presentation skills using Power Point.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

• Law Degree (LL.B.) Korea or overseas lawyer qualification as advantage but not mandatory

• At least over 9 years of law firm or legal department experience in general corporate, e-Commerce, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), privacy, transactional and commercial law, etc.

• Experience with multinational companies preferred.
