    Location: Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea

    Shift: Full-Time: Monday through Friday from 7:30AM to 5:00PM

    Job Summary:

    Sanford Federal, Inc seeks Patient Administration Clerk to support TRICARE

    Operations and Patient Administration (TOPA) Flight at the 8th Medical Group (8 MDG), Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea, by scheduling patients for medical appointments by following the 8 MDG Appointment Booking, Protocols, checking-in patients for their medical appointment, and entering health care access data into the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) and/or the Military Healthcare System (MHS)

    Genesis. During business hours when no data entry, appointment scheduling or checking in patients takes place, the PAC contractor shall assist with medical records maintenance (a core function of patient administration). The Appointment Booking Protocols will be provided by the 8 MDG. These services shall contribute to a stable workforce tasked with providing quality health care services to a diverse beneficiary population.

    Qualifications:

  • Education: The Contractor shall submit High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency certificate.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: None
  • Experience: Patient Administration Clerk shall have at least one (1) verifiable year of experience for medical administration, medical office management, medical scheduling, or medical practice management within the last five (5) years.
  • The Patient Administration Clerk shall be proficient in English for reading, speaking, listening, and writing. Contract personnel shall be capable of effectively communicating with patients and the MTF staff.
  • Verification of English Proficiency:

    1. Documentation of Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) with a score NOT less than 750, which was obtained within last three (3) years OR
    2. English class credit points from a college or University (at least one (1) credit); OR
    3. Proof of minimum of one (1) year working experience in a U.S. Government job position within the last five years.

    Duties:

    The Patient Administration Clerk 's duties shall include but not be limited to:

    The PAC shall schedule patients for medical appointments IAW AFI 44-176, Access to Care Continuum and the eight MDG Appointment Booking Protocols.

    Check-in patients for their appointment and enter health care data into the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) and/or Military Health System (MHS) Genesis. Maintains appointment schedules using CHCS or AHLTA or MHS Genesis.

    Validates eligibility through appropriate booking through Defense Eligibility Report System (DEERS). Ensures patients are registered in CHCS/DEERS.

    Ensures demographic information in CHCS is updated when required. Approximately 25% of time may be spent on scheduling appointments (walk-in and telephonic), 25% on checking in patients, 20% on entering data into the Electronic Health Record, and 30% on facilitating medical records maintenance. Records maintenance will entail maintaining/safe- guarding, transferring, filing and retirement/inventory of outpatient records.

    As needed, locate medical records, and ensure appropriate documentation forms are available to medical personnel prior to all patient visits.

    Prepares Service Treatment Records for AFPC, manages in/out-processing program; updates vMPF checklists.

    Provide front desk customer service, Release of Information (ROI) requests and customer phone inquiries.

    Researches medical records utilizing the Medical Records Tracking Module in CHCS.

    Scanning loose documentation into HAIMS. These are estimates only and do not imply a fixed schedule, as certain days may necessitate time reallocation to one of the other tasks, depending on the mission.

    Customer service: Customer/Caller complaints shall not exceed 2% every month.

    Also, the employee should include approximately 1 hour per week for meetings, huddles, and coordination initiatives.
