    Our Local Programs and Regulatory Compliance team is responsible for ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations in the countries where we operate. About the role: The Compliance Manager will report to the Regulatory Compliance Director and MLRO in Korea and be responsible for supporting 's AML/CFT operational compliance obligations transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting, KYC reviews, enhanced due diligence, regulatory reporting, and variety of other projects across the Korea compliance program). You will also support the Compliance function of the group to ensure robust policies, and controls are in place across all regulated businesses of , and that they remain in compliance with internal procedures and policies.

    Responsbilities

  • Support the implementation of operational and regulatory compliance requirements for the Korea business;
  • Work with internal stakeholders (eg. Legal, IT Security, etc) and external stakeholders (Compliance Vendors, Counterparty FIs);
  • Ensure operational excellence for ongoing compliance tasks;
  • Assist with the periodic review of compliance related procedures;
  • Assist with independent reviews and regulatory examinations as required;
  • Identify, highlight, and manage compliance risks, findings, and recommendations identified internally or externally, by independent reviews or examinations;
  • Assist in developing and maintaining compliance processes with respect to Value Transfer Requirements aka "The Travel Rule";
  • Respond to law enforcement requests and inquiries;
  • Respond to requests for further information from partnering financial institutions;
  • Develop technical knowledge and competency in relation to the regulatory framework governing the company and its activities;
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities required to ensure all companies do so in accordance with local regulations.
  • Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in VASP services, FinTech or a regulatory agency involving compliance issues relating to AML, and related VASP services laws and regulations;
  • Previous experience working in AML related roles is preferred;
  • Understanding of AML regulations within the VASP services industry in Korea and globally;
  • Excellent knowledge of the AML Act, its subsidiary legislations, and applicable notices and guidelines, in particular, Act on Reporting and Using Specified Financial Transaction Information;
  • STR writing experience;
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision;
  • Strong organizational skills – must be multi-tasked oriented and able to balance pressure and deadlines with constantly changing priorities;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize workload in line with tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure;
  • Excellent written communication – business and project reports;
  • Experience interacting with local regulators a plus;
  • CAMS certification, or willingness to obtain, preferred;
  • Knowledge of digital assets and fintech products is preferred;
  • Ability to work within a matrixed environment and cross-functionally with operations and technology functions.
