South Koreans have a long-time love affair with League of Legends (LoL), so much so that even celebrities got caught in the wave of the game’s hype despite their busy schedules. It might be surprising to some fans, but some K-pop idols have actually revealed that they do play LoL during their free time. Jin from BTS

A member of one of the most well-known K-pop groups in the world likes delivering a different kind of performance online. In an interview with Yahoo Esports, Jin revealed that he likes playing League of Legends, with his favourite champion being Jhin, someone who bears nearly the same name as him.

Jin also mentioned that he and his co-members follow the esports team T1 on social media and that he idolises its star player Faker.

Heechul from Super Junior

Heechul isn’t just an ordinary member of the League of Legends fandom, he is one of the highest-ranking K-pop idols in the game. He is one of the celebrities who are constantly invited to a lineup of Korean celebrities in LoL exhibition matches. He even revealed that he doesn’t spend money on other things but he has a budget for League of Legends.

Heechul made a YouTube channel where he uploads his best plays on the Summoner’s Rift. His last known rank was Diamond.

Baekhyun from EXO

Not only is Baekhyun from EXO an excellent performer on stage, he has also proven himself a competitive League of Legends player countless times. He once revealed that he faced off against Heechul in the past. Baekhyun plays other games as well but it is believed that LoL is his all-time favourite.

Jihyo from TWICE

The powerful vocalist of TWICE is also showing off a different kind of power on the Summoner’s Rift. Jihyo once said that she uses League of Legends as a tool of relaxation, making her feel like her true self while playing video games. Most fans of TWICE know that Jihyo is quite proficient in playing League of Legends, but she also joins her co-members in playing other games.

Not only is Day6’s Jae’s fingers good at shredding some guitar riffs, but it is also effective in targeting his skills when he plays League of Legends. Jae is known among K-pop fans as a League of Legends enthusiast, having once uploaded a vlog on YouTube where he played against his bandmate Dowoon.
