Hauptaufgaben
Performs full range of professional duties in the field of general engineering including civil, architectural, structural, electrical and mechanical in support of various construction projects under Pyeongtaek Resident Office.
Construction is performed by American and Korean private contractors on projects ranging in dollar value from $10,000 to $100,000,000. Construction includes various sizes of living, administrative, tactical support facilities of various type of structures.Reviews the design criteria used for and processing a project in addition to understanding all facts of the construction process to include knowledge of equipment, materials testing, equipment use, and methods of construction.
Prepares and utilizes engineering cost estimates for military construction projects in different geographic locations with different land characteristics.Be able to relate costs to the work at hand so that a fair and reasonable price develops from negotiations.
Demonstrates capability to make decisions with sound judgment based on engineering principles and professional experience.Serve as Project Engineer, incumbent is delegated authority and responsibility to manage and administer contractual, engineering, and environmental requirements and specifications of construction projects in a designated part of South Korea.
Has delegated authority to act for the Contracting Officer as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), ensuring compliance with Defense Acquisition Regulation and the general and special provisions of negotiated contracts.
Responsible for management of Project Office staff of engineers, technicians, inspectors, and support personnel. Construction projects are usually conventional in nature and include both new construction, maintenance and repair, and environmental work. Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifikationsanforderungen
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have completed a full 4-year course of study in a ROKG authorized or recognized college or university in the field of engineering related to the job for which being considered, or possess class I professional engineer license in the field related to the job for which being considered.
