Team Description
The Dangerous Goods team at Coupang, operating within the Global Supply Chain team, seeks a dynamic and motivated Dangerous Goods Senior Specialist. This vital role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, collaborating on business expansion, and optimizing operational processes. This opportunity allows the chosen candidate to contribute to Coupang's commitment to excellence and safety within the e-commerce landscape.
The candidate needs to be able to work in an ambiguous environment while handling daily DG operations and assisting with improvement projects.
What You Will Do
Ensure Dangerous Goods (DG) Compliance: Monitor regulatory updates, analyze data to identify issues, and conduct validations of products for safe air/ocean shipping. The validation process involves reviewing product information, requesting documentation, researching classifications, and flagging DG items.
Analyze and Maintain Accurate Documentation: (M)SDS, UN38.3, etc...
Contribute to DG Training Programs: Assist with training programs to educate employees on the proper handling, classification, and documentation of Dangerous Goods.
Communicate Effectively: Smoothly collaborate with stakeholders from various departments regarding DG compliance procedures.
Essential Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of experience handling DG shipments at a freight forwarder, airline, ocean carrier, Ecommerce or a large retailer.
DG Certification for Air/Ocean (IATA/ICAO/IMDG). Must know how to maneuver through DG regulations.
Native Korean speaker with the ability to read/write in English proficiently.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to prioritize work in a complex, fast-paced environment with many asks and multiple stakeholders
Sound business judgement and proven ability to effectively communicate
Analytical and problem-solving skills to find creative ways to cover obstacles.
Experience utilizing data analytics tools, such as Excel, Tableau, and Redash
Able to speak/read/write in Chinese is a plus (not required)
