- Lead research and assess the maturity of new technologies in a wide range of intelligent systems topics with the focus on: Application of AI for marine and offshore Smart and Intelligent Ship systems Ship autonomous systems Future ship concepts Digital twin of ship and offshore systems Smart technologies for shipyards.
- Develop guidance and classification requirements for the marine and offshore industry on the application of new technology.
- Support ABS technical community on queries regarding intelligent systems.
- Maintain and demonstrate thought leadership through technical publications, conference presentations and panel discussions.
- Participate in industrial committees to development and enhance technical capabilities.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, and other relevant disciplines; Masters or PhD in appropriate discipline preferred
- Minimum years relevant experience in shipyard, design/consulting office, shipping/oil company, offshore energy company, university, or classification society
- Knowledge and experience of marine intelligent systems such as collision detection and collision avoidance, smart power/energy/battery management systems, and other autonomous functions/operations
- Knowledge and experience of Artificial Intelligence and its application in marine and offshore industry
- Marine and offshore industry experience.
- Excellent technical, interpersonal, communication, and writing skills in English

As an Engineer in this center, you will participate in or lead research and development projects with regional and global clients. Projects focus on smart and autonomous functions, application of Artificial Intelligence, and future ship concepts.
