    The role will work closely with the wider Development team, focusing on stakeholder identification, needs assessment, analysis, communications with stakeholders and engagement processes.

    Working with your stakeholder management and wider project team members, you will ensure that key project stakeholders (local government officials, other developers, shipowner's associations, fishery associations, local community groups, individuals, etc.) are engaged and effectively consulted throughout the development process and collect their valuable and important feedback. Through this engagement process you will develop and propose solutions to satisfy stakeholder needs, highlighting internally the potential risks with your proposed solutions, following internal compliance and other procedures to develop and implement mitigation strategies. This is an important role to support the successful development of offshore wind projects in Korea and promote RWE as a responsible, honest and trustworthy developer for stakeholders to work with.

    We are open to applicants who do not have direct offshore wind or renewable energy experience, but have a passion to enter an industry that will allow them to play a key role in helping deliver clean, sustainable renewable energy to Korea.     Reports to Head of Stakeholder Management.

    Your role:

  • Working closely with your stakeholder management and wider other project team members to identify stakeholders, conduct needs assessments and analysis with transparent reporting of risks and opportunities facing projects.
  • Ensure the stakeholder management strategy of offshore wind projects in Korea addresses the needs of local communities and stakeholders to help ensure the successful progression of the project throughout all stages of project development.
  • Planning and negotiating agreements with key stakeholders ahead of project development milestones ensuring compliance requirements, best practice and a consistent corporate approach to stakeholder management is adopted.
  • Advising management and project development team of stakeholder feedback, opinions from the local area and how to tailor our engagement strategy
  • Developing a good understanding of RWE's wider sustainability and community engagement strategy to ensure community engagement events in Korea align with and support their objectives.
  • Attending regional stakeholder meetings, inter-developer committees and events to represent the project's interests, negotiating and influencing on key topics where required.
  • Monitoring the activity of local service providers contracted under stakeholder management Service Agreements to steer, guide and determine if the services meet the Agreements' scope of service and RWE's requirements.
  • Closely monitor and report on any valuable information that may lead to further opportunities for offshore wind projects in Korea

    • Your Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in or related to stakeholder management, project origination, or development. Experience in the renewables industry is a plus.
  • Good influencing and negotiation skills, acting confidently and professionally with all project stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of key stakeholders in the offshore wind development and permitting process.
  • Well organised, trustworthy and able to act in the best interest of the project at all times.
  • Highly motivated, with the ability to work on multiple stakeholder management workstreams to challenging project deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with a range of different stakeholders including local officials, shipowners associations, fisheries associations, grid operators, developers, community groups, landowners and local individuals.
  • Ability to adapt to changing regulatory requirements and stakeholder opinion and replan accordingly.
  • Frequent business travel to local regions in Korea.
